Procedure

In order to collect plastic pipes effectively, the collection must be planned and carried out properly. SPPR supports the entire process.

The types and quantities of pipes that will be dismantled can already be estimated during the planning of a construction project. A disposal concept can be drawn up accordingly, which will allow the existing products to be recycled or reused as far as possible. If your disposal company is unable to accept the pipes, clarify the acceptance of the material in advance with a collection point.

collection

Plastic pipes can be collected in the factory or on the construction site.

On-site collection is suitable for large quantities of similar pipes, such as those that may arise in pipeline construction (civil engineering). Here, unmixed plastic pipes can be collected directly in skips or other large containers and taken to a collection point. Collection on the construction site can also be useful in building construction under certain circumstances. However, appropriate disposal solutions must be offered by the site management and the quality of the collected material must be checked on an ongoing basis (see types of plastic).

Alternatively, plastic pipes can also be collected at the installation companies. Collection at the company is particularly suitable for:

  • Raw waste from minor maintenance and repair work for which there is no disposal solution on the construction site.
  • Pipe waste on construction sites where no disposal and recycling solution is offered. As specialists, installers can identify recyclable pipes and thus ensure that the quality of the collected goods remains high.
  • Sections and packaging from prefabrication or work preparation.

collection points

The collection points in your area will help you at any time with questions and advice on collection.

leaflets

The SPPR project is working with various industry representatives to develop information sheets and documents that describe which raw waste can be collected in a mixed form so that it can also be recycled. These documents are to be understood as recommendations, and the respective collection points may also have other requirements.
